How to transfer a sheet from an Owner who no longer exists

We have an account in SmartSheets that owns sheets as an Owner. However, the user does not show up in our users list, so we cannot delete. To further explain:

As part of a new business acquisition, sheets were moved by Business A to new Business B using this account. Once all sheets were transferred, the Business A account was deleted. However, we are finding that some sheets still have the Business A account owning.

So sheets are owned by a user that does not exist in Business B account. Is there a way to transfer ownership, when this account does not exist?

Might be a silly question, but have you asked your Smartsheet Admin to review on the back-end?

We had employees leave the company, and our IT Team was able to transfer ownerships of all of their things to me. I wonder if your IT could move things around even if they can't specifically see the name of the previous user…

If they're unable to find the sheets, and if the requests for sharing permissions aren't going to anyone, it may by something that the Smartsheet Admin Team needs to assist with.
