Meet Cayla Davis, our April Member Spotlight! 🎉

Some people are natural community builders, and @Cayla Davis is one of them . Her energy around collaboration is contagious, and why she was inducted into the Community Champions this year. If you need a boost of inspiration, read her member spotlight and get to know her Smartsheet story.

Cayla is a Global Technology Manager at Amex GBT, and lives in Nova Scotia, Canada. Smartsheet was first introduced to her after she had just returned from back-to-back maternity leaves (!). Her team was looking into data management and spreadsheet documentation, and before she knew it, she was a raving fan. “The possibilities felt endless, and I was so excited by everything [Smartsheet] could do that I completely immersed myself in it,” she says. “I even started using it for my personal projects. It was love at first sight!” 

When asked what her favorite feature is, her love for dashboards becomes pretty clear! “There’s so much you can create with them, and building the backend is just as thrilling as the final product,” she says. “It’s that perfect blend of challenging and satisfying. Every dashboard I build feels like a creative win.” 

Other than dashboards, Cayla is also very passionate about the Community, especially the people. She has impressively built an internal community of 140 Smartsheet Champions at her company, and fostering its growth has been rewarding. 

After being inducted into the Community Champions earlier this year, Cayla says it means so much more to her than just a title, but helping others discover the potential of Smartsheet.

“It means having a support system of fellow Champions and resources I can lean on. That’s what makes the Smartsheet Community truly special - you’re never alone. It’s such a stark contrast to other tools, and I’m genuinely grateful to be a part of something this supportive and collaborative!”

Though she’s accomplished so much, she has big plans for the future. “I’m aiming to become an Overachiever, earn more Smartsheet swag, and eventually complete my certification,” she says. “I’m just getting started!”

When she’s not championing others, Cayla is a proud wife and mom to two kids, Benjamin (4 years old) and Madilyn (3 years old). She describes herself as a “total tech enthusiast” and loves going all in on new apps or cutting-edge products. “That’s probably why I love being a part of the Early Adopter Program (EAP),” she says. “Getting my hands on new technology before anyone else? That’s my happy place!”
