Hi all - I'm looking for some clarification around dashboard and general sheet/report permissions/sharing. Our team is looking to have a collaborative dashboard that we can use for team meetings. The widgets are a mix of reports/rich-text/images/web links, and it's all within a workspace. I wasn't planning on sharing the entire workspace with the team, only the sheets/reports directly connected to the dashboard.
Q1 - If I give people the Viewer permission for the Dashboard, but share with them any connected reports/sheets and allow them 'Editor' permission on those, will they still be able to click into say a report widget and make changes? My reasoning for doing this is I don't want them to accidentally hit the edit pencil on the dashboard and then move or delete things by accident. However they have to be able to access the reports/sheets to enter content or update existing content.
Q2 - One member of the team has been shared to the dashboard as an Admin and shared to all the underlying sheets/reports as an Editor-can share. However when they click on the dashboard widgets it comes up saying they have "view-only access to this sheet". Have I missed a sharing/permission step? Is it because I haven't shared them to the entire workspace (which I was trying to avoid), but only shared individual sheets/reports within the workspace to them?
