Free members are not able to edit the sheet in Business plan

Hello,

We recently upgraded to the Business Plan with three paid members. However, we have noticed that unpaid members within our organization are currently unable to edit sheets or cells.

Could you please advise how we can enable this functionality? We have multiple collaborators with different roles, including Viewers, Commenters, Editors, Admins, and Owners. At present, the Business Plan appears to provide only Owner and Viewer permissions, which seems similar to the Pro Plan and does not meet our collaboration requirements.

We would appreciate your guidance on how to enable editing permissions for non-paid members within our organization.

Hi Jazmine,

I just want to make it clear that I don't work for Smartsheet, I'm an independent contributor on this forum.

Generally speaking any user from your company who needs to have editing rights will need a paid licence. There are ways around that with their own limitations, as is described in you screenshots: the free contributors can use forms, update request, comments.

As Andrée says, the free guests who can edit are for externals to your domain only.

This is only for External users who are not part of your company's domain. One change is the addition of a Contributors role.

Hi Adrien,

Further to my comments above, please find the attached screenshot indicating: “Free users, external to the organization’s domain, who can edit and comment” under Unlimited Free Guests for the Business Plan.

Based on this information provided in the Smartsheet website, we have upgraded from the Pro Plan to the Business Plan to meet this requirement.

Kindly support us in enabling this functionality as outlined on the Smartsheet Plans and Pricing page, as this was a key factor in our decision to upgrade.
