Requirement Traceability

Hi there - We are struggling with some inadequacies with our internal requirements management system and are looking for a workaround or way to leverage Smartsheet for this purpose.  Main goals being requirement traceability and bulk uploads.  Has anyone leveraged Smartsheet for requirement management and repository (business, functional/user story, technical/system requirements through test cases)?  If so, would you mind sharing how this has worked for you and possibly share an example?  Not finding much in the template library. 

Something of note, we have over 2200 business requirements, and even more functional and technical requirements.  We have no issues chunking these into different sheets due to sheet size limitations, then pulling back together with reporting or data mesh.

Traceability can be achieved in two ways:

1. Cell history

2. Activity log (Must have Business or Enterprise licence for this.

Bulk uploads - you can import from Excel or Google sheets, however only to new sheets.  Once loaded then the Move to Other sheet can be used to transfer the data from the uploaded sheet into an existing sheet. A Manual process in both cases unless you use something like Zappier.

Working with SQL database you may be able to achieve more but this is not my area of expertise.
