Update Requests status issue

Hi.

I sent an update request, updates were made, but status haven`t changed, still shows as "pending".

How can I solve this issue?

    Sounds like the update request activity wasnt saved. So, the issue is in the process, not in the smartsheet system. 

    Why not send an email update request to some sat next to you and see that they complet the process, then check the results? That should identify where something has not been finished off?

    If it is a recurring update request, the icon will remain until the last recurrence is completed.

    Hi.

     

    Almost same issue: I send update request, but in fact i ask to update just in the discussion, not in the row. Then, I see that when the discussion is updated, the update request stays pending.

    Is that the way it is built? that only visible change in the row is considered an update?

    Ilan and Jolanta, a couple questions for you...

     

    -Is it a recurring update request? You can tell by clicking on the update request icon on the row. Is the request under Scheduled or Pending/Completed? 

     

    -Did you (the update request sender) receive email confirmation that the update request was completed?

    Hi Travis.

    1. I don't have any reocurring requests
      I don't remember receiving an email upon an update made. I do receive it through notification function.
      Do requests have to be pushed on the green button in the request email, in order to be updated as being completed?
      Cause I think our guys might just login and add comments to the discussions, without clicking the link.
      Could that be the issue?

    Ilan, that could certainly be the issue. In order for the update request to be completed, the users will need to complete the update request through the link provided and not by logging in and making the changes to the sheet. 

     

    If you would prefer they make the changes from within the sheet, you might consider sending rows rather than update requests.

    Hi Travis,

     

    I am in a similar boat as Ilan... I have sent out Update Requests to different people on multiple rows.  In many cases, the Update Request is a question or just needs acknowledgement/approval of the change that I have made without any further input from their side.  How can they "check off" the request and change it from "pending" to "completed".  Do they have to use the dropdown to "Delete" the request?  Or does clicking the link from the email automatically clear the Update Request?  

    There needs to be a feature within the Smartsheet itself where collaborators can change the status to complete...
