GMail for Smartsheet App

When I open some emails the smartsheet app opens at the right of the screen as expected.  This does NOT happen with all emails in my inbox.  Why not?

Another issue with the same app is that it will connect to some of my sheets but not others. Again, why not?  I do not see any configuration changes I can make that allow or disallow any of these issues to exist.

Has anyone else experienced this?

    Hello Roger,

     

    Thanks for this great question!  As far as your question about the add-on working for some sheets and not others, I've seen this when users had a Dropdown column in their sheet that did not have any dropdown values listed.  Could I have you check to see if any of your sheets have a Dropdown column that does not have a value?  If so, adding a value should resolve this and allow you to add from the add-on (though, if you want users to be able to add any value, as opposed to the values in the list, you could change that column type to a text/number column type).

     

    Regarding why some of your sheets have the add-on icon and others do not, could I have you send some screen shots of a few examples? 

     

    Do some of the emails not have a subject or body text in the emails? 

     

    I'd love to see what the differences between some of those emails are that could be causing this.
