VLOOKUP to another sheet using images

I love the new VLOOKUP functionality and am using it to try to reference IMAGES that I have stored in another sheet.However, I noticed that SmartSheet only pulls in the image name (example: imagename.jpg) and does not actually show the image.

This would be so useful to actually pull in the image itself as a cross-reference. Is this functionality on the radar for a future release?

I was trying to do this today. We are tracking individuals projects as well as clients. I want to pair the logos and profile pictures with names across projects, mainly because (1) it's more visually appealing, and (2) people are much more visual than they are able to read lots of text when getting an idea of who, where, and to what degree. Having vlookup with images allows us to pair profile images, logos, and other visual statuses that we store in another page in order to help users to be more efficient and get more out of the sheets.

Any update on this? Seems like a no-brainer that using VLOOKUP or Cross-Sheet Reference to a cell containing an image should pull the image, not the name. As far as how it could be used, I can give you 2 straight off the bat:

Dynamically pulling out a different image based on a cell value (e.g. company logo)
Custom status symbols (instead of RYG balls)

If I put my mind to it, I could come up with many more.

Honestly, who thought that pulling the file name out was a good idea? A quick survey of your customers (perhaps before designing future functionality) would no doubt show that pretty much everybody wants to see an image in the new cell not the filename. We have hundreds of Smartsheet users at work and so far nobody has seemed interested in seeing filenames.

Is there any workaround for this? I have users insert images using the mobile app into a given cell, and then I need to populate that image in other sheets for review and other functionality...

I've submitted an enhancement request for this functionality. Would be useful for our construction company to populate item Schedules (e.g. Schedules of fixtures and fittings etc) and would think that any product based business would benefit from this functionality.

Hello. I am rallying to have Smartsheets work on having the VLOOKUP command so allow you to import an image from one sheet into another. Currently it only imports the image name which is not useful.

If this would help your workflow please submit a Product Enhancement Request via this link. The more requests, the higher on the to-do list this feature will become.

UTILISATION: I have one Smartsheet which is my 'inventory' list. I have another 'order' sheet on which I use VLOOKUP command so that when I enter the product code / SKU the rest of the product information will auto-fill. Once of my columns of information is an image and it would be useful for the image to also import. I am in the constrcution industry and we use this for our fixture, materials, appliance schedules.

I can see this functionality aiding a wide range of businesses - please let your voice be heard if this would help Smartsheets become more useful for your business!

Would love to have this feature! Using VLOOKUP to look up a image in a cell would be GREAT! We use a columns with images as references and would be great to have all the product name on another sheet an have their respected images in the column next to it. Then just use a VLOOKUP function to generate the image on the required main sheet.
