Need help brainstorming solution for tracking forecasts

Hi Community!

I've gotten pretty far with developing a new tracking process for our marketing teams by scouring the questions and answers already posted here.  However, I'm stuck on something that I haven't been able to figure out and am hoping you guys can help me brainstorm a way to solve it.

I'm using smartsheet to track our monthly marketing spend forecast.  My teams are updating their forecast each month with what was actually spent the prior month and re-phasing their budgets for the rest of the year.  Our leadership is keen to be aware when teams are pushing their budgets to later and later in the year instead of spending what they had previously estimated. 

I have columns for each month, with each marketing team down the side, and I'm trying to figure out a way to flag when someone changes any given month in their row by more than 10% (in either direction). I know there has to be a way, but haven't been able to come up with anything yet.  Would love to hear any creative ideas!

Hi Joelle,

You might consider building automated notifications off of your criteria. More info on this is available in the help center: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/542904-using-notifications

Since we don't have a way to perform calculations based off of cell history data (if they're updating the same exact column, the data is overwritten), you'll need to base your notification off of any change to the budget, or create something more static that notifies you when the budget value changes over a certain dollar amount.
