Is there a way to tell if a cell is used in another formula or not?
I have a sheet that I inherited and it has all kinds of fields used for statistic reporting. I want to edit the sheet, but don't know what formulas on this or other sheets I might break if I edit it.
Is there a way to know if a cell is used in a formula somewhere else?
Thanks, Carolyn

Hi Carolyn,
Yes and no!
If there are cell links in or out or cross sheet formulas you will see small arrows. Unfortunately, you can't see if there are any fields that are used for reporting.
I hope this helps you!

Thanks, but I am aware where the links are as you indicated by the arrows. I am trying to find the formula references which do not have an arrow.

save as the sheet and mess around on the copy. once you have the copy like you like it move your formulas over to the main. I do this all the time. Its extra effort but you get the security of having the original stay safe until you are confident of your changes.
