Date Formatting

I'm trying to create a rule so that if an 'install date' is before a 'product received' date then the install date will highlight in red.  Any ideas on how to do this?  I tried rules and filters, but it wants be to chose a date for my condition (not the date in another column).  

I did this a long time ago and I created a hidden column with a check box so that if the box was checked then the date was red.  However, I can not remember how to set up the rule for the checkbox column.

Create your checkbox column and use the following:

 

=IF([Install Date Column Name]@row < [Product Received Date Column Name]@row, 1)

 

This will check your box if the install date is less than the product received date. You can then build your conditional formatting rule off of the checkbox.
