I can't understand why SmartSheet is so complicated and does not put the user in control.
If I want to edit a start date because that is the reality then let me edit the start date. I don't care about any dependency logic

Really agree with that first sentiment. If these limitations exist, at least there should be proposed solutions as pop-ups, or something. AI can write formulas (this has been useful)…maybe AI could suggest solutions to these types of issues.
Also - really appreciate the solution @RJosephWilson - using 0 as predecessor works. It also makes sense, but should not be necessary.
