Approval Workflows

Hi SS users!

I've recently started using the Approval/deny workflow and loving it.

However, I have a couple of questions/issues:

1 - Is there a way to turn of email notifications to the approver, but still get the request to them? Our approvers are using the SS app, going into notifications and approving that way.... the duplication of emails is getting confusing for them.

2 - Is there a way to make a notification pop up on their mobile devices? I've checked all the notification settings and everything looks good, but users don't get a notification across their home screen (like other apps). It relies on them going into the SS app, and then checking to see if they have any approvals to review. We've had a few requests missed because of this.

    to answer your 2nd question... 

    on an Iphone in the menu under Notifications you can decide what types of alerts you wish to get App by App so under Smartsheet try Allow/ Sounds/ Badge app Icon and having done that what I see is a red Number next to the app before i open it. An alert on Lock screen which even syncs with my Garmin Watch which buzzes. 

    I dont immediately see a way to avoid sending an email our because it was all designed around that but my colleagues have done deep dive int his area and created some terrific solutions, so if the above doesnt solve you problem, post again and Craig Williams or James Rezin may have more suggestions?

    Have checked all notification settings in both the Smartsheet app, and my iphone settings - see attached pics.

    When I am in the Smartsheet app, I do see a red notification bubble on the notification bell, but dont get anything on the phones desktop (either a notification or a bubble on the Smartsheet app) which would trigger me to go into the Smartsheet app..... don't know what I'm doing wrong!

    In relation to the emails, we've just bandiaded the situation for the moment by using email rules to forward them into another folder so they don't clog up the users inbox.

    Email notifications are in the Personal Settings, but each user can turn off the notifications they don't want to see.

    we should run some tests on this so we can propose best practice as more and more people are working with the mobile App now and in some cases the Android version are slightly different. 

    I will review my settings and report back.
