How to Change Background Color on Forms
Hello Community,
How do you change the background color on submitted forms? The color is either green or yellow and the rows do not respond to background color changes or font color changes. Sometimes forms get submitted and then cancelled so I want to highlight the cancelled form rows red. Why can't the admin of a form change a row color, it's drives me crazy when software companies disable very basic items like font and background color changes.
Thanks

Hi,
I misunderstood the question before. As Brooke wrote below, it's probably conditional formatting that is the culprit. You cant change the color if there is a conditional formatting rule applied but you could add another rule that changes the color if the status canceled or if a checkbox is ticked or similar.
Would that work for you?
I'm not sure what you want help with. It would be helpful if you could share some screen or more detailed information.
I hope this helps you!

Is conditional formatting turned on for the sheet? That would be the reason that a form response automatically is colored and doesn't respond to manual changes.

Thank you baddams and Andree, conditional formatting was the culprit!

I came to this conversation because I had a cell that had a yellow background that I could not turn off. I checked the conditional formatting but there was none that controlled that cell. To make a long story short, it turned out that "Highlight Changes" was turned on and yellow was the highlight color. When I turned off "Highlight Changes" the cell in question went back to no background color.

How do I make the output of my smartsheet once a user inputs information appear in my company standard form template?
Do I have to make the form custom with my company info in it before I make it a usable form?

Hi Kyle,
Not sure I follow!
Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s) or some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@getdone.se)
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!
Best,
