Plotting a total over time

I'm trying to do some rough and ready resource planning. I've created a column called 'Dummy resource' and I'm putting in it the number of people who will be working on the each task. I'd like to produce a plot of the daily total of this number (sum of people working on active tasks) against the date for the duration of the project. Is this at all possible?

Can you provide some screenshots. From the sound of it, you're going to need a SUMIFS.
