Smartsheet has stopped displaying tabs?!
Hi Smartsheeters
A couple of months ago (?) my Smartsheet instance has stopped displaying my open sheets in tabs across the top of the screen. It just gives me
- Home tab
- One single open sheet
- The [...] tab
- The [+] tab
I can still open sheets from the Home tab, and I still see all my open sheets displayed in the [...] list. But if I go to a sheet from either source, rather than create a new tab across the top, Smartsheet just replaces the single open sheet with the one I just selected.
My colleagues on the same account are not seeing the same problem.
I am running Chrome 68.0.3440.106 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Mac OSX High Sierra 10.13.6
Not a critical problem at all but mildly irritating. Any suggestions to restore normal multi-tab view much appreciated!

Are you part of the Early Adopter Program (EAP)?
If you are, I assume it may be related to a new feature. Check your email for details. The EAP is on a user basis, not an account-wide basis.
The only time I see this behavior is from a published sheet, and you ruled that out with your description.
If you are not, that's not right. I know of no way to 'enable' that "feature" Contact support@smartsheet.com.
Also if so, SMARTSHEET: I REALLY hope this is will be configurable. I will not be pleased with such a change.

Totally agree with Craig! SMARTSHEET - Please, please make this major UX change configurable. It's a huge step backward in efficiency and productivity.

Susan, your comment suggests that you too are seeing this view?
As Craig says, very strange and not one we would welcome. I am an EAP as is Craig and I am not seeing this view.
Suggest you both put in a support request and let the community know the Reason/outcome?
Hope that helps

I have three user accounts in the EAP and none of them were invited to such a feature.
EAP invitations are limited and spread out. More I am not allowed to say.

Richard, sorry for the confusion. No, I'm not seeing this change in the display of tabs, nor have I heard anything from our users.
I was just agreeing with Craig that such a change would not be welcome.
Thanks for asking for clarification!

Hi Spencer,
What I suspect is that you may have inadvertently selected the option to close all tabs (See screenshot). If you open several sheets from your home tab, you should see them along the top, as expected. We haven't made UI changes since the last one (even to EAP users)
If this doesn't seem to be the case, please fill out a ticket via smartsheet.com/gethelp.
Hope this helps!

AAAAAH !
Thank you Kara for that simple explanation, hopefully Spencer can confirm he is sorted?

I hope Kara is right, but the OP said
"and I still see all my open sheets displayed in the [...] list."
which would not be the case if there were only one sheet 'open'.
I am eager to hear the cause.

These reports look more like a problem than user error, given their "me too" and "since the upgrade" commonalities.

Hi,
Try this!
I'm current Chrome version and have no extensions.
I did, however, track it down!
In my chrome settings, at the bottom of the page was an 'Advanced' drop down. Within 'Content Settings' there is a 'Zoom Level,' and Smartsheet was set to 70% there. I undid that and refreshed my screen and now have the tabs back.
To help people further diagnose this for future people you can 'ctrl +/-' from the webpage and it (the tabs) will automatically appear and disappear, and it looks like the magic number is anything under 80% it will auto shrink the tabs.
I hope this helps you!
Best,

Well done!
FYI - I can not reproduce this behavior on my laptop, but I can on secondary monitors

Community - I apologise for the delay in responding.
Andree has nailed it. My Chome Zoom settings were 75%. I changed to 80% and all my open sheets are again visible as tabs.
Thank you Andree !!!
