Report Formatting
Hi everyone. Is there a way to format a report I built. I would like to change fonts and background colors?

Hi Gabe,
The report shows the formatting from the sheet(s), so you have to change the fonts and colors there.
I hope this helps you!

Thanks Andree, so there is no way to manipulate format in the report itself. That is what I understand correct? do you know if smartsheet is planning to include that as a future update. I think we all can get benefited of that.

Happy to help!
Yes, unfortunately, there isn't today, and I don't know of any changes coming. We will know more after Engage 2018.
Either way. Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment.

Hi Gabe
if you would like a better looking and more interactive form of Reporting, then you could look at using Graphs in the Smartsheet dashboard or even use Power BI to provide slicing and dicing choices to your graphical views.
All that is available now. Power BI is quite inexpensive and Smartsheet dashboards are Free providing you are on a Business License. We do understand the value of adding colours to reports, the human eye enjoys consuming data far better with colour.
Hope that helps

Thanks Richard really appreciated your feedback. I start using dashboards and facilitates that, but still brings the reports into the dashboard as it is. Unless I am missing something. How can I get the Power BI tool? Do you know how much cost?

Hi Gabe,
Here's some info on Power BI and some other options as well.
Please see the attached link/screenshot for more information.

Gabe
I was thinking that you could gather the stats you want to see in your reports in one of more summary sheets, rather than in Smartsheet Reports, then you can use the Bar Charts and other graphs to represent what you want to see in Dashboards which you can easily share with Colleagues.
To benefit form Power Bi dashboards you still need a data source in Smartsheet so gathering your data/ KPIs together is still needed, but the beauty of Power BI over Smartsheet dashboards is the data displayed can come from a mix of Smartsheet AND Excel if you want it to, plus you can slice and dice the Graphs as you view them, so great for presenting at a Board Meeting.
The cost of Power Bi is circa $7 per month standalone or as an add on to your 365 account. You may well benefit from someone setting this all up for you to start with, then show you how to maintain it. Otherwise you may get frustrated.
The results are impressive whichever dashboard you use. if you do need some help setting this up, my team can do that but there would be a cost, or have a play yourself? We do offer a free initial consultation where I can demonstrate all the above so YOU can decide what you want?
Good luck

PS Andre thanks for sharing the links to Gabe!

Does anyone know if there is a way to format a report when it is a sheet summary report? I know in order to typically format a report, you need to format the grid itself that the report is pulling from, but that does not seem to work on sheet summary reports.
-
Unfortunately, it's not possible to format the Sheet Summary report at all, but it's an excellent idea!

I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!

Not being able to format reports is a major drawback - not sure how they haven't fixed this yet. You should be able to adjust font, font size, etc., by report, based on level of report required, audience, presence on dashboards.
