I have two date type questions:

Question 1

I am looking to auto populate a date field as soon as two other columns are populated.  I want the date to remain fixed and not change to 'today' every time the spreadsheet if opened.

The Columns Are:

Date Part Fitted - this needs the date auto entered when:

Part Number Fitted column is populated

AND

 Serial Number Fitted column is populated

The Date Part Fitted column needs to be secure and not change.

Question 2

I am looking to auto populate a date field as soon as an attachment is uploaded.  This needs to be a locked field the user can not change

The only two time stamp options in smartsheet are created and last modified. Unfortunately there is no way of locking the last modified down if there are going to be other changes to the row. 

 

Date stamps have to be done manually.

Part of what you want can be done using a third-party tool. I prefer Zapier.

The Zap can also trigger on a new attachment.

In regards to locking a cell, this can not be done directly.

The row can be locked, which will prevent editors from changing anything on the row. Admin's will not be affected.
