We have a team dashboard that is not showing correct data. It seems that the underlying report is not updating. What is wrong?

    Hi,

Try to change something on the underlying sheet(s) to see if the dashboard is updated and also check the settings in the dashboard and report(s) so that it's set to get the correct data. If you're still having issues, I would recommend to reach out to the Smartsheet Support Team.

    I hope this helps you!

  • Hello Andree,

There are multiple source sheets that are feeding the report. The dashboard is populated from this report. There seems to be an issue with the report not updating.

Seems very strange, assuming you have checked your settings and tried some simple updates and making sure that someone hasn't changed the criteria inadvertently?

After some Due Diligence on your part, the suspicion has to be that there is a bug, in which... as Andre suggests ask [email protected] and give then the ID number so they can check?

Good luck, very frustrating for you.

Is the data not being displayed properly date related?

    Craig

  • If i open the report it will temporarily update which will reflect in the dashboard. However, it doesn't save the updates and reverts to the previous incorrect data. It is a nuisance for one, having to log in to the underlying report to make it refresh, but secondly, not save the refresh.

I saw the behavior occasionally in my own testing of the feature back in Q1. At the time, I thought it was resolved.

    I haven't seen it recently.

If I find anything in my notes, I'll pass it along.

In the meantime, reach out to [email protected] or https://help.smartsheet.com/contact

I would try the second one first.

What do you mean? Haven't they got back to you? Are you still having the same issue?

  • They have got back to me but not resolved the issue. The report that is populating the dashboard is not auto-refreshing even though the source sheets are being saved and refreshed.

From a management perspective, we want to be able to look at the dashboard and know that the information is accurate. Senior Management do not have time to be going into the report/s and refreshing them manually. They expect the dashboard to be correct when they review it.

If you'd like and if it's not any sensitive data you can share it with me and I would be happy to take a look.

    Have a fantastic weekend!

  • Thanks Andree, I have sent these through by email.

  • I have a similar problem. The "Current User" sees no rows in Dashboard. However, when he clicks on that report in the Dashboard (the underlying report comes up through the EDIT INTERACTION" feature) the user is able to see all rows there.

    Is this a permissions issue?

    Hi Gopikrishna,

It's because if you select "Current User" on a report that will be shown on a Dashboard, it will only show it as you are viewing it (or the one that created the report).

Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment.

    Have a fantastic weekend!
