Google Sheets Text Indent

When exporting a smartsheet to google sheets, the indent formatting doesn't pass over to the google sheet.  All rows that are indented become outdented (left justified). The workaround is to manually edit the google sheet by entering spaces on the lines that were not indented.  Does smartsheet have a script or solution to address this?

Soory, but there is no way that I know of.  If however you export to Excel it will give it to you as a Subtotaled sheet and therefore keeps the Hirearchy.  Warning if yo then imort it into Google docks it strips it out.

  • Thanks James.  Would be great if SmartSheet could address retaining the indent format since exporting to Google Sheets is an option.

Hi Craig, I did a Google search on this topic and it does not appear Google Sheets supports indenting the way Smartsheet or Excel does, which is likely why your rows are not indented when exported to Sheets.

From Googles help forums, it sounds like this is a highly requested feature for Google Sheets - you might consider reaching out to Google and request it (the more requests they get, the more likely they are to add new features).
