Alert and Action Update Request
I thought an "automated" (Alert and Actions) Update Request can be built to produce a form on the recipients end. That's working for me per a "manual" Update request as in image one below.
But per the Alert and Actions Update Request my recipients are only getting row data/information in their email. No link to a form. Image two below.

Interesting. I tested it and was able to get the Open Request Form button. Are your users shared on your sheet?
I sent a row to me manually based on data changing in the sheet and I was able to see the form.

Thank you Mike,
You were able to produce the form via an automated Alert and Action Update Request?
I'm sending to myself as a test and i'm simply getting what appears to be alert style information. see image.

hmm. this might be it. notice the image and what i have highlighted. it might be that using a date criteria for the main trigger doesn't work to produce a form. i changed this setting to "when a row changes" and it produced the form.

Interesting. I am doing it based on the status row changing. I sent it to myself and was successful. As well as sent it to users that are not shared on the sheet and it was successful as well.

Switch it from "when a row changes" to "on a specific date". That's what appears to be fouling it up.
Thanks.

Question. What are the two conditions you added as well? Those conditions may be causing the item not to fire as well.

image below. thanks.
Of course i'm setting the row conditions to fire the request. just strange in that once i set it to "on specific date" is when it no longer becomes a form on the recipients end. instead it's an alert.

Interesting. I set up some to fire tomorrow (since notifications on a specific date usually fire in the early AM) I should have some confirmation or feedback for you then. So weird.

Hi Whitney, I received both of my alerts with an update request button. I would try recreating the Update request. Here are the steps I took to create it.

The challenge is that... IF you have conditions on the firing of your request then those conditions will prevent the fire if they are not met. Smartsheet only sends out alerts or date based alerts in the early morning. So if the conditions are met that same day, but its past the day that Smartsheet sends alerts, the alerts will never fire.

Thank you Mike.
I'm not sure why my rule was oscillating from an alert email and a update form email. I'm keeping an eye on it. At this point it's functioning.

Glad I could confirm its working on my end. Happy Smartsheeting!
