Combining Notifications
I have a task list that sends out alerts based on the due date of each item. It is possible that a single person could have 5-10 tasks due on the same day. As of now, that person will get 5-10 emails in their inbox reminding them of the due date. Is it possible to somehow combine these notifications into one that will list the tasks that are due or only send one notification with a generic message that says they have tasks due today?

Hi Cory,
Yes, it is. You can change the alert from "Send right away" to once a day or once a week instead.
Would that work?
Have a fantastic day & Happy Holidays!

I have attached a screenshot of one of my typical alerts. I haven't figured out how to change the frequency when it is based on a date. Is there a better way for me to structure the alert?

Unfortunately, I misunderstood your question, and it's not possible to select how often it should send when a date is used.
I'll get back to you if I think of something else.
Sorry for the misunderstanding!
Best,
Andrée

Thanks for your help, Andrée. I'm trying to roll out Smartsheet at a 100 person firm, and I know the number of emails will be a complaint as things are now. I'm trying to reduce them as much as possible, but getting rid of due date reminders just cuts back on too much of the functionality.

Happy to help!
Another way would be to use a helper column that could check the due date and check a checkbox if it's the same as TODAY() and that would trigger the alert.
Don't know why I didn't think of that earlier.
Another way could be to use reports instead and maybe send daily, weekly with the tasks that are due that day/week/month.
Would that work?
Best,
Andrée
