"Contact in column" Unsubscribing

What happens if a notification that is sent to "contact in column" Email adress gets unsubscribed in the mail?

Does that mean this particular mail gets no more notifications at all from that rule?

I set up a rule that sends of copy of all inquiries to the mail adress, that was specified in the respective field. (I know, there is a tick field for that). Will a person that has unsubscribed from one of these mails never receive another mail from this rule?

Where can I see what person unsubscribed from a specific rule, if it is "contact in column"?

    Hello,

Thanks for your post! I've answered each of your questions below:

What happens if a notification that is sent to "contact in column" Email address gets unsubscribed in the mail? Does that mean this particular mail gets no more notifications at all from that rule? If somebody selects the "Unsubscribe" link in the alert email, the email address of the original alert recipient won't be able to receive alerts from that specific alert rule. They will still be able to receive alerts from other alert rules in the sheet, however.

I set up a rule that sends of copy of all inquiries to the mail address, that was specified in the respective field. (I know, there is a tick field for that). Will a person that has unsubscribed from one of these mails never receive another mail from this rule? Correct, once they unsubscribe from the alert, they'll no longer receive alerts for that rule. The only way they could re-subscribe would be to access the sheet directly and navigate to Manage Alerts & Actions to subscribe to the rule they unsubscribed to. Alternatively, you can clone the alert rule. They'll begin receiving alerts again since they never unsubscribed from the clone.

Where can I see what person unsubscribed from a specific rule, if it is "contact in column"? Currently, there isn't a way to see who has unsubscribed within the Smartsheet interface, but you can submit a Product Enhancement Request with the Quick Link to the right. If you reach out to our Support Team at https://help.smartsheet.com/contact with the Sheet Name and the Rule ID (Manage Alerts & Actions > Rule Dropdown > Properties), we can sometimes determine who has unsubscribed and advise accordingly.

    I hope this helps!

@Isaac Jose Thanks for laying this out. I recently had someone unsub from one notification rule in a sheet and I was concerned they would have inadvertently unsubbed from ALL notifications from SS.

The desired thing for employees to do is to notify me that they don't want to be included in these notifications and I remove them from the automation itself but what can you do.
