Good suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestion, Morgan! I will add it to our enhancement request list.

That's a neat suggestion.
My vote too!

I agree, great suggestion!

Votes added, Stan, Craig, and Tim!

Any update on this?

FANTASTIC suggestion Morgan!!!
This would be super useful for the users, and also really useful for the reporting functionality. Currently reports don't factor in changes made to comments and attachments when you filter using the "modified" date.

Hey Travis, our team would benefit from a feature like this. Please add my vote to the tally. Thanks!

It look like it has been a year since this was first suggested, and news on if this will happen soon? (Thanks for the suggestion Morgan.) We review sheets that have multiple notes for each line. A most recent comment column that makes the most recent note for each line visible in the sheet, would make reporting on those lines much easier when we have the spreadsheet up on the conference screen during meetings.

Hello Josh & Anna,
I've got your votes down for this on our enhancement request list for further review by our Product team.
We don't have a timeframe for when this feature would be added to Smartsheet.

adding my vote!

Is there any update on when we can hope for this feature to be added?
It's absolutely essential to be able to quickly view the most recent comment in a cell. It doesn't make sense that you have so many templates with a Comments field, when those Comments fields don't actually tie to the Comment history available on each line item.
This enhancement request has clearly existed for at least over a year. Please consider its necessity for end users.

Recently, I have successfully tested something like this using Zapier.
Zapier only captures new Comments though, either a new thread or a reply to an existing thread. It does not capture modifications to existing Comments.
The date/time of the Comment is also not available, which I find odd.
I also suspect there is a timing issue at play when there are several comments added in rapid succession.I have not been wholly satisfied with the results yet, but there is some promise there.

Hello,
It's been more than two years since this suggestion was presented.
What is the status?

I am struggling getting my team to use Smartsheet because of this reason. They want to continue using JIRA because all comments are easily captured and viewed much clearer than Smartsheet. They don't want to look for an icon to see comments.
