Rows Disappearing after having been moved from the origination page.

We have our sheet set up to where 1 sheet is used for order origination; the row is then moved to the sheet of the person who will be completing the task. The person will see it on their sheet and is able to change the status to accepted; however, in time, the row disappears all together.

This is causing a lot of issues with our clients as we cannot keep up with 100+ orders a day if they are disappearing from the sheets all together. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

    Dear Melinda,

    I cannot answer the question why rows disappear when moving them to other sheets. However, I would suggest not to use "Move Row to Another Sheet..." menu option in this case. Reports can handle all you're doing now as you described:

    • - "1 sheet is used for order origination;
    • - the row is then moved to the sheet of the person who will be completing the task
    • - The person will see it on their sheet
    • - and is able to change the status to accepted"
    • Here is a detailed guide for creating reports:

    • In brief:
    • - Use a master sheet
    • - Buiid reports for team members completing the tasks (one for each person in a contact-iist type column) [in the Who? section of report builder]
    • - They see their tasks on their report-sheets [You can also filter their tasks (for instance, to non-accomplished ones) in the What? section in the builder. ]
    • - they are able to change the status of tasks - these will be changed on the master sheet, too.

    Hope it helps.

    Melinda - I have never seen any data disappear from sheets that was not directly caused by an action taken by a user. Likely there is something going on here due to a process or workflow. Please email support@smartsheet.com and they can help you get to the bottom of this.

    Thanks!
