Automated Update Requests based on 'Assigned To'
Hi
I'd like to set up automated update requests to be sent out on a bi-weekly basis with a pre-defined set of fields to be completed in the update form.
I don't have a trigger for this, I'd just like people to provide updates to their project, rather than trigger this from a change in a particular field.
Any thoughts as to how I can do this?
Thanks
Daniela

Hi Daniela,
It's coming soon to the Alerts & Actions.
https://community.smartsheet.com/discussion/coming-2019-recurring-workflows
Until then you can set it up thru the row menu and select Send Update Request, and in the Delivery menu, you can select that it should send bi-weekly.
Would that work?
Have a fantastic weekend!

Andree,
I don't know if you have options different from mine, but the closest to bi-weekly I can set an Update Request to send is on a weekly basis, and even then it still needs to have some kind of change to trigger it.
I would include a date field where the user enters the date that they are submitting the update. You can then add another date column that is simply
=[Submitted Date]@row + 14
This will add 2 weeks to the date the row was last updated. You can then set your update request to send based on the second date column.

Paul,
I might, But I think you have this one.

Andree,
I was using the Alerts & Actions button in the top tool bar. That only allowed a very few options. I didn't think of it until your screenshot, but accessing from the row allows for the bi-weekly setup.
I never thought about it before, but I wonder why there are two different layouts for the same thing...

Paul,
I think it's not going to change because the recurring workflows are around the corner.
