Setting Up Rules

I would like to know how to set up a rule where if a certain selection is made from a drop down in a cell that it automatically prompts you to complete a related cell.

For example:

If a member of my team update the Recruitment Status for a vacant role to show 'Offer Made' I would like a prompt set up to automatically complete the 'Offer Accepted Date' column. 

Is there a way to do this or is that too sophisticated?
