Assigned To Email Automation

Is there a way to have a smartsheet send an email when someone is assigned a task?  I am looking for the email to go to the assignee of the task.  I have not been able to figure out how to do this or if it is even possible.

    Cindy,

    Create a new Column called Date Assigned.

    When you assig sombody to the task add the date into the new column

    Set up a reminder to send to Assigned to on Date Assigned.

     

    I believe that will do it.

    This would work, but make sure you set the date to "tomorrow". Reminders set for "today" will not send - they must be set for at least one day in the future.
