Does anyone have a template that works to track professional articles, books, etc. along with notes as you would find in a bibliography?

We don't currently have a public template available for this function, but I imagine it could be set up with the bibliographic information making up the core of the sheet and the notes either in a column in the sheet or in Discussion comments. If you do find a template for this, or develop one of your own, please feel free to comment here and let me know. We do add new templates to our Gallery when we find new examples of how to use Smartsheet and I'd be happy to look into getting this added to the Gallery!
