Roll Up Works REPORT only partially
Hello, I know that reports have been an issue, but I think I have a strange problem. My reports are not refreshing with the latest data, even hours after the Roll Up sheet (on which the reports are based) is updated. When I go to my Roll Up Sheet (on which the report is based), and scroll all the way to the right (as if I wanted to see all the columns), the "save" button suddenly activates on top. When I click it (save), suddenly my Report refreshes. I can't keep going in every day and saving an unchanged sheet, just so that my Reports work. Any work around? I thought of maybe just sending out my Roll Up sheet as a PDF instead of the Report (since the Roll up is identical to the Report). Is that a viable option or am I missing something? Thank you!

Are you using the TODAY() function anywhere in the sheet?

Yes, it is date related and yes, I am using TODAY(). Is that known to throw errors? Thank you!

When using the TODAY function, the sheet(s) need to be "activated" to show the updated data in the report. That's why it's working when you save the sheet.
There are ways to make that process more manageable if you're not in the sheet almost daily, and depending on how critical it is that the data is correct.
The simplest is to have an automated update request sent to save a change to the sheet but there are other more automated methods.

Hello, thank you for the clarification and advice. That would definitely help to have the sheet activate itself. It is very important the data is correct on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. When you say to set up the Automation - I didn't see anything where the sheet would update itself. Did you mean that the automation would just send a reminder to someone to go in and update the sheet? That is really not an option because this needs to run daily, 365 days a year. Any other suggestions on how the sheet could "activate" itself? Thank you!!

The other workaround would be to use an update request to update the sheet daily, and then it would work. I have a few clients that do this because they don't want to or can't use Zapier or another similar service.
Would that work/help?
