Oh COME ON!
Why why would you change a keyboard shortcut?
Are you aware of muscle memory?
This just sadistic.
Isn't this one of the golden rules of hot-keys?
They don't need to "make sense" and you shouldn't need to or ever really be able to guess them.
WHAT COULD POSSIBLY BE THE REASON TO CHANGE THEM?
My situation:
I use two different keyboards (US and German)
Indent used to be Ctrl+K
which works from both keyboards in the same way.
Now it is Ctrl+[
The [ key at a different location and require two keys (Alt Gr + ]) so the hot key requires three keys.
Even if that wasn't the case, in my experience muscle memories is a (usually minor) barrier to entry. However, I worked with a client that had this very complicated process that no one else could follow quickly. She was doing things in seconds that took everyone else multiple minutes to perform. This was ALL due to muscle memory. She just knew the process like a cellist knows the strings to a favorite song. There was a long discussion the cost of shifting to a new system because the cost was larger than it appeared on paper.
You've just added minutes to my day when I use Smartsheet and I do not appreciate it.
I defy anyone to give me a valid reason for this change.
