I've read through a few threads and I am unable to re-create a simple countdown formula. I keep getting an #INVALID OPERATION error.

Are both the Target Date and Today formatted as Date column types?

Yes, both columns are Date types.
That's strange!
It should work.
Try to change the columns to text and back again and also try to edit the formula and then change it back again. Maybe it's a glitch.
