How to update dates to a new future date

Hi I use smartsheet as payroll check system. 

I normally maintain a group name, pay date, direct credit date.

For some groups we pay weekly and for some we pay fortnightly. 

How do i automate date column with future date once i complete the payroll on certain date.

Example

Group Name        Payroll preparion Date             Direct Credit Date

Alfa                       22/07/2019                                22/07/2019               - This payroll is completed

 

Future Payroll

Group Name        Payroll preparion Date             Direct Credit Date

Alfa                       29/07/2019                                29/07/2019               - Future payroll Date.

( this should be automated)

 

Can some one help please.

Hi,

There are a few ways to set it up. Here's two.

1. Template set up for multiple Payrolls and structured with a defined pattern (every seven days, each month) 
2. Using a third-party integration like Zapier and automatically create a new row based on the former one with the correct dates.

Would any of those options work?

Hi Andree,

Thank you for inputs. 

Option 1 seems to be lot of manual and let me think about the option 2.

Is there any possibility to update smartsheet automation rules. SS Automation rules also have lots of limitations.

Option 1 would be more work when setting up the template structure but not ongoing.

Not sure I follow! What do you mean with updating the Smartsheet automation rules? What would you want to happen?
