can smartsheet support "comments" and “cell merge”？

Hello,

I am wondering whether smartsheet can support "comments" and “cell merge”？

-Cell comments: Write a comments for the value in the cell, like excel?

- Cell merge: merge the adjacent cells as one cell

- Two level columns headers: Ex:

Level 1: Jan

Level 2: Qty, Amount, Price

Now I can only write header as: Jan qty, Jan amount, Jan price, Feb Qty. Feb Amount, Feb price.

 

Any workaround solution is welcome. Kindly help.

Hi Aaron,

Unfortunately, it's not possible to do any of those things in Smartsheet like in Excel at the moment, but they are all great ideas!

Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment.

Workarounds that might work for:

-Cell comments: Write a comments for the value in the cell, like excel?

• Use the comment row feature and write which cell it's for
• Add a column beside the one you'd want to comment on and then you could hide it so it only would be visible in the edit view.

- Cell merge: merge the adjacent cells as one cell

• Use colors to make it look like one cell and the JOIN function if you'd want to add information from more cells together.

- Two level columns headers: Ex:

• Use the rows in the sheet to add the headers and levels.
