Apply an updated template to a group of sheets
I have a group of about 50 sheets which I created using a customized template. I need to update the template (add a couple rows, add conditional formatting) and am wondering if there is a way I can apply the update on a mass scale to the sheets I've already created. I really don't want to have to update each one individually.

Unfortunately there is no way to make a change to a template and have it retroactively update any sheet created from that template.
If you are inclined and and interested you could look into using the Smartsheet API to automate a set of actions (add/delete columns and rows, etc) over a set of sheets. But learning how to use the API and setting this up might take just as long, or longer, than making the changes manually.

Hi Brian-- Jason is right, there's not currently a way to do this, but I've gone ahead and added your vote for it to our enhancement request list. Thanks for the input!
You might be able to use the API to automate actions across sheets, but of course, this requires knowing how to use the API! If you have access to a developer, or dev team, they might be able to assist. We have some great API documentation, and are always happy to help troubleshoot issues here in the Community or via email at API@Smartsheet.com. Let me know if this works for you!

This is a very good use case for the API.
I'm working on something that might be able to be leveraged for a feature like this.
If I can ever finish it, I'll make a note to post the status here.

This would be an excellent feature. It would be greatly beneficial to be able to change a template and have the capability to retroactively update sheets that were created with that template. I know I've already spent significant time updating sheets after I make one or two minor tweaks to a template and want the tweaks to be input into all the sheets that were generated with that template.
