Maintenance Options
To try and improve the processing and saving time I was forced to disable all Conditional formatting, which of course I had to do one by one. There was nothing else I could do so started to think of what I would need to make this process much more efficient.
Therefore, I would like to recommend the following feature for Smartsheet:
On the Sheet Menu add a new Menu Item called Maintenance. This item will only be available to Owners and Licensed Administrators.
When it is clicked it should open a Dialogue box (Form) where the Owner/ Administrator can disable some of the features and functions of the sheet for a temporary period. I would see the following:
I believe that this is something that many sheet Owners and administrators would greatly benefit from.

Hi James-- We are actually in the progress of making some improvements to sheet loading and saving capabilities that I hope will be released later this year. I think that may have an impact on issues like this in the future. Additionally, I know that being able to batch disable and enable Conditional Formatting rules is something that is on our Enhancement Request list and I've added your vote for this as well. I've also passed this post with your "Maintenance Options" suggestion on to our Product team. Thanks for this input!

Kennedy,
Many thanks, in addition to this the ability to Disable sheet sharing until further notice would also be useful. Example, Monthly reviews, Surveys etc so that hey can be switched off and then back on the following month or when required again.
This I see as an Option on the Sharing dialogue box.

I may have used all my votes for the day, but all the rest need to be added to this one.
I have many large complex sheets that are nearly unuseable under certain circumstances (like slow Internet or the phase of the moon),
Turning off formula updates would solve a lot of this.
I've had sheets corrupted by simple copy and paste because the sheet saved before the formulas properly updated.
These are often on sheets with less than 1000 rows and fewer than 25 columns - WAY under the cell limitations.
Basically what I'm trying to type is
ME TOO ME TOO ME TOO
