I have a sheet that I use for managing corporate events. Has anyone has figured out how to use it to track non-human resources to avoid scheduling conflicts? For example trade show displays, vehicles, A/V equipment.
I made all of my non-human resources a user account within smart sheet. Non of the emails are active but it still works.
Try it.
Louise O'Day - could you expand on your answer to the above question? I have an inventory of equipment that is checked out and I want to prevent double booking.
Stewart, I think she is talking about using resource management to track equipment. For your example, you could add your equipment as "users" under User Management. Invite them as a fake email address. You can then track them as resources. Schedule them as you would a human resource. With this, resource management will alert you when the resource is over booked.
Stewart - Bob Andrews is correct. My resources are all "fake" users. Equipment and rooms.
Thank you Bob and Louise for the input. I will give this a shot.
