=COUNTIF above a row
Hello,
I'm wondering if there is a way to set the range in a =COUNTIF function to only count above a specified row. We currently use a form to generate actionable rows the the top of the smartsheet. As items are completed we move the actionable row to a collapsable archive parent row.
I want to set up a function to =COUNTIF sections of the actionable area without counting the archive row. If I set a range, say rows 1-20, then if I get 21 forms it will not calculate the 21st row. Is there a fuction to count only above a row or the only count parent rows?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

SUM(CHILDREN()) or CHILDREN() might help you.
Depending on exactly what you need to do.

Check out the new formulas for PARENT() and ANCESTOR().
Those might help too.
