6 Teams- 1 Dashboard Help
I'm trying to find the best/easiest way to display data from a Sheet Summary Report into a visual Dashboard.
We have 6 different project teams, each with multiple tasks or projects with criteria we need to report on as a whole. I've summarized each sheet to give me the specific metrics I need, but now I need to get that into a dashboard. How can I do this since most of the widgets require sheet cell data?
Thanks!

You can put it into a report, then post the report into the dashboard

Or you can transfer that sheet summary data to a set of dedicated and hidden cells on each sheet. Then use a metrics sheet to collect all of that data through cell links and cross sheet references.

At that point why build the sheet summary though. I feel like they missed out on a lot of functionality they could have had with the summaries. Maybe in an update they will add some features.

Hi,
I'm sure it will evolve so we can link to other sheets and dashboards soon.
Have a fantastic weekend!

The sheet summary provides an easy to access listing of the pertinent data. The hidden/linked cells on the sheet wouldn't have to be labeled and can be pushed away from the main body of the sheet which allows for the continued use of column references.
I agree that there is a lot more potential out there with the sheet summaries, but in the meantime this workaround is something I use.
Basically I use the Summary section to display the data in a nice and neat manner that can be very easily and quickly accessed/hidden without having to use a dedicated section on the sheet for display.
Then I can use a few hidden columns that are buried way back out of the way for links to be able to use cross sheet references on the data.

That is how I use it also, and it works great, but I can't wait for what's coming next!

Sounds like you've got the inside track. Haha. I'm definitely going to be paying close attention to ENGAGE this year. I wish I could go. My bosses said "Maybe next year" though so...
