Charts with Groupings on the X-Axis
I'm looking to create a chart which has multiple layers on the X-axis. It doesn't seem possible to do with Smartsheet, but thought I'd throw the question out there to see if I was missing something. To be clear, I've attached a screenshot from Excel that shows what I'm looking to do. The top graph is what I want, where each item is also labeled with the group it is in. The bottom graph shows what I have been able to achieve with Smartsheet - just the items without the groups.
The only workaround I can think of would be if I created another column in my data which concatenated the group name and the item name, and then use that column as the labels on my X-axis.

Use another column to join the 2 values together.
.
Group Item Graph Label
A Z f
A A f
.
=Group@row + Item@row
Would give results of
Graph Label
AZ
AA
.
Of course you could add a space, line break, etc. by placing them between the 2 cell references.
=Group@row + " " + Item@row
=Group@row + CHAR(10) + Item@row

Thanks, Paul. That's the approach I've taken. I was hoping there was something more direct that didn't involve the need to create another column, but it doesn't seem like there is.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help. That is a good idea for a feature though. Feel free to submit a Product Enhancement Request.

You were helpful, though - at least now I know I'm doing it the best way given the current product capabilities. Thanks for the link to the Product Enhancement Request form as well.

Well any help is better than no help. Haha.
