how to sort filtered data?

February 2017 and we can't sort data while filtered? This is an absolutely necessary, not to mention elementary, functionality of spreadsheets.

 

Please add my vote to this.

 

Side note: when/where are the upcoming updates posted? How frequently are changes made?

I agree with all of the above. Our users ask about sorting after filtering all the time and it is a source of both confusion and frustration.

I agree. This functionallity is a basic need when working with any kind of data. The filter screen should allow the addition of sort criteria.

Chiming in to add another voice in favor of being able to sort filtered data. This is a very important feature and I'm surprised to find out it is not currently supported.

Another vote for filter and sort!  I am trying to encourage my co-workers to use SS but I always warn them about the filter and sort not working.  It makes it not worth it.

Hello SmartSheet! 20 months this thread has been going on and no action... What gives? Clearly we want to see the ability to SORT FILTERED DATA. Yes, I know the workaround is to filter first then sort, but why not just give us the ability to SORT FILTERED DATA?

Add me to the must have list for this feature. easier to do in excel than smartsheets. we are trying to rank order (sort) our backlog by key initiatives (filter). Really need this to communicate to stakeholders

It's backwards, but you can sort first and then filter. Sorting after filter would be ideal, though.
