When should we use reports? i see no need to use reports, I want to know is there any importanve of using reports?
Have you ever wanted to publish a view that only showed tasks completed in the past week or month?
Or have you ever wanted a group of consumers to see some columns but not all as a view of a worksheet?

yes i have. But how can I use reports in my dashboard?
You can actually display a report directly in your Smartsheet dashboard.
Also, you can publish them as read-only and share links to dynamic, updating reports with your constituents for transparency on processes, timing and the likes.
And if you use a template for multiple projects and want to view the same set of criteria across all of those sheets at the same time such as looking at multiple project plans for all deliverables that are past due and having them in one place.
I've been trying to do a simple check of whether or not the entry from the form has a returned value that is either yes or no and it checks 3 cell locations to see if any returned yes. The 3 columns are Dropdown lists for Yes/No and the Status is a Text/Number, is that the issues? If not how do i fix that?
I'm wondering if there is a way to lock rows 1-12 out of the sorting and filtering of a sheet. I might have take out that part of the from otherwise I dont like how the built in dashboard moves when a sort or filter is applied?
