Dear Community,
Is it possible to set a formula so that the Start Date always equals the End Date and that the Duration is always '0'? We are tracking key milestones and are only provided the End Date. I'd like to reduce the manual entry to automatically make the Start Date match the End Date and ensure that the Duration is set to 0 so that they show up as milestones on our Gantt chart.
Thanks for any advice
Ilene
Hi Ilene,
It sound like you're working with a project sheet (that has dependencies enabled). If so, it's important to know that formulas are not supported in project columns like the Start and Finish date.
Also, milestones only work when dependencies are enabled. If needed, more information on Project Settings can be found in our help article: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/765737-project-sheet-columns-start-date-end-date-duration-complete-and-predecessors
I encourage you to submit a Product Enhancement Request to let our Product team know that you'd like to have the ability to do this in Smartsheet.
Hi
thank you for your response...I thought it would be a Catch 22 :-)
I will submit a request
thanks!

All of the formulas I have tried have only gotten me so far as the "AND". Adding in the dates screws it up. The goal is to determine if…
I am getting a lot of REF errors for my predecessors and I can't figure out why. At first I thought I might have REF for predecessors to predecessors but that's not the case. When I export the file into Excel it shows the IDs in the place where it shows REF in SS. Each time I refresh the file I feel like different values…
I am trying to create a sheet summary, where the field is a formula that relies on a contact card within a column. However, it keeps returning a result of "#NO MATCH". The columns involved are, 1:) Priority (symbol column) for Up, Unchanged, and Down, and 2:) Contact Card column. I am trying to get a sheet summary formula…
