Why can't I choose the auto number column for my report?
I created an auto number column indicating a running matter number sequence for reference in my sheet and need to see it in various reports. I am not able to choose this column for the various reports. Why?

Can you share some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help.

Top is sheet and below is report. I saved, I refreshed and the auto number does not show.

Happy to help!
Double-check the columns selected in the report. If you changed the column type after it was added to the report, you have to add the "new" column.
Was that the issue?

In addition, if you renamed the column, you would need to re-add it to the report even if you later changed it back to the original name.
