Alerting Somone So they can only see a certain row in a sheet

Good afternoon

We want to start using Smartsheet to issue purchase orders and keep a PO Log but we want the people in our "Contact" column to only be able to see the row that pertains to them. Is there a way to do this?

Hi, so, we issue a PO and in our contacts column we put our Admin (works for our company) that will issue the PO and the person that the PO gets sent to by our admin. So they both get an alert via email but we only want sandy to have acess to the sheet and not the person getting the PO

Does that make sense?

If the other person is not shared to the sheet, they should not be able to view it even through links in an email. If they click on the link, it should take them to a screen that lets them know they don't have access.

HI Paul, so it worked but they get a button that asks them is they want the sheet owner to grant access and when they click that we get an email asking us to grant them access. Is there a way to not have them have the option of asking for access?

Unfortunately you cannot remove that option. You should be able to include a custom message though letting them know something along the lines of

"This is just a notification. No further action is required."

Or something like that.
