How do I make required fields required on an Android phone?

I have created a time reporting collection form with required fields that works fine on my PC, laptop and tablet, but not on my Android phone. I don't have to complete any of the required fields on my phone app in order to submit the form. If I need to do something special in the setup for the phone app, please let me know. This is a real downer to my client who wants a mobile way to record employee time.
