Add Column to Row Report that was not in original sheet
Hi!
I have created a Row Report containing information from just one sheet, with one "What?" criteria.
I have the desire to add another column to this report, that does not come from the original sheet, just for notes purposes. This column would have sensitive information in it that I do not want the other owners of the original report to see or have access to.
Is there a way to add a new column to this report that does not come from the original sheet? Or are there any work around for this that people have found?
Thanks!

Hi Casey,
Yes, you can add other sheets to the report, but they will not show on the same row as the first sheet. Make sense?
There isn’t a way to secure the information if they have access to the sheet.
Can you tell me more about the process because there might be a workaround?
Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s) or some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@getdone.se)
I hope that helps!
Have a fantastic weekend!

Andree,
I don't want to add other sheets, just a single column to this new report that did not come from the previous sheet for the purpose of my personal notes.
Below is a screenshot of part of my report. I would like to add a column next to Confirmed Keynote Speaker to jot down notes. When I try to add a column, it gives me the option to choose from all of the columns that were on the original sheet that I created this Row Report from. I do not want to use one of those columns, I want to create a new column. Is that possible???

To use it in the way that you need, you'd have to add the column to the same sheet as the other columns and then add it to the report.
Make sense?

Yes, I know I can do that, but I didn't want the other owners of the sheet to see this column. There will potentially be sensitive information in this column that is for restricted eyes only.
I figured it wasn't possible, but just wanted to double check.

Of course!
A solution that would be perfect for this use-case is the premium add-on, Dynamic View. Is that an option?

The dynamic view solution is overly complicated, It would be nice to be able to add columns to reports for sorting and presentation purposes.

Great idea! That would be a great addition to Smartsheet features.

Curious if a solution has been implemented. I too would find the ability to add columns to a report very beneficial.
Thanks,
Richard

I am also curious - I would find the ability to add new columns to a report, new columns not associated with the source sheet. I find it very strange that you can't do this. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one!

Hi love this idea did anything get this solved?

Can we get an update on this thread, please?
I'd like to be able to add a single formula column A to a row report versus adding the column A on 100 source sheets that pull into this report.
