Notification on Formula or On Status

It appears that it is not possible to send a notification based on a formula if the sheet has not been opened/saved. Is there a work around within Smartsheet?

Is it possible to send a notification every day on any rows that have a particular status (e.g., Open)? It seems there is no trigger (no row change/add).

TIA

HERE is a thread that has some good information and screenshots on @Alejandra's solution. In this thread, the trigger is set up exactly how Alejandra suggests. The only change you would need to make would be using the above suggested condition of the Status vs the thread is working off of a checkbox.

The thread also contains some information on how to make the TODAY() function work without having to actually open the sheet as there are a few different options. Basically the sheet just needs to be "activated" and not necessarily opened.
