Dashboards don't updated based on conditional formatting of cell

I have a sheet with a value that I have applied a conditional format to (if negative change to red text). This cell is then linked in a dashboard that I use. The sheet's value follows the formatting rule accurately but the Dashboard matches the value but NOT the format. Is there something I am missing with my linking? Is there a way to conditionally format a Dashboard widget value?

I don't think that's possible. You can embed a report which does contain the conditional formatting from the original sheets. This would allow you to display the red rows to your key stakeholders, presenting the information and formatting it correctly. Would that work?

I would also submit a product enhancement request as this would be a GREAT feature.

That is what I am doing — in the underlying data sheet, the conditional format "highlights events posted in the last two days". The sheet feeds into a report. That report is part of a dashboard. Sometimes (I haven't figured out what causes it), an item on the dashboard will be highlighted, even though it falls well outside of the "last two days" dictated by the underlying conditional formatting on the sheet. For example, I have one right now that was posted 7 days ago, but the conditional formatting is still appearing on the dashboard (but does not appear on the underlying sheet or report).

What widget are you using on your dashboard? If it is a metric widget make sure you have this option selected and the formatting will update to the source (including conditional formatting).
