CRM contacts management

Is there a way to have a CRM across two sheets? One purely for contact information that can be referenced by another sheet that shows project details?

The project details sheet will have a column specific for contacts and dropdown contacts referenced from the contacts sheet as well as being able to add multiple contacts per cell.

I realise that smartsheet has it's own directory for contacts but it obviously doesn't provide enough flexibility regarding the additional information that I would like to have on each contact.

What would be a bonus is if the contacts on this sheet could be syncronised with office 365.
